Het eiland is een echte pracht! Schoon, nog niet al te toeristisch en vele mooie plaatsen om te ontdekken.

Sowohl für Städteausflüge (La Rochelle, Saintes, Rochefort) als auch für Naturliebhaber (Tagesausflüge zur Ile de Aix, Strand, Wald) sehr gut geeignet. Empfehlenswerte Museen: Das Marinefliegermuseum in Rochefort (an zwei Tagen die Woche geöffnet, bei der Gendarmerieschule gelegen) Das Marine Museum Rochefort. Sehr schön ist auch der Zoo von Palmyre
